The seminar briefly outlines among others control systems, measuring instruments etc. used in mechatronics and robotics both for industrial and for laboratory purposes. In relation to mechatronics and robotics, experiences from the real use of model-based predictive control will be summarized.

An introduction to Cybernetical Physics (an emerging area of research dealing with application of cybernetical methods to studying physical systems) is given. Speed-gradient based solutions for energy control problems in conservative and dissipative systems are presented.
